<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a buffer memory required for high speed consecutive shot by applying band compression at a 2nd coding circuit prior to application of a picture signal to a buffer memory. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal digitized through A/D conversion at an A/D converter 3 is compressed while its band is compressed to nearly 1/5 at a 2nd coding circuit 4 whose compression rate is low but operated at a high speed and stored in a buffer memory 5. The picture information compressed-stored in the buffer memory 5 is read at non-pickup and decoded by a 2nd coding circuit 4 and reproduced into the original picture signal before compression. The picture information reproduced into the original picture signal has slow operating speed but the band is compressed to 1/10-1/20 at a coding circuit 6a whose operating speed is slow but whose compression rate is high and recorded in a storage device 7 incorporated with a recording medium. Thus, the memory capacity of the buffer memory 5 is reduced.</p> |
