<p>The device of the invention relates to the safety belts used in motor vehicles comprising seats in which the sitting portion is longitudinally adjustable. This device comprises a series of retaining means provided with retaining pieces (8, 9, 10, 11) arranged on the vehicle floor (6), and a hook means (13, 14) connected to the belt attachment means (7), whereby this attachment means (7) can be automatically connected to the retaining means corresponding to the longitudinal position of the sitting portion (1) of the seat.
