The insert consists of a L-shaped shell (1), the substantially vertical part of which forms a backrest (2) and the substantially horizontal part, the seat (3). The shell externally matches the shape of the said car seat. The inside of the shell is bounded by two lateral walls each one consisting, at the seat and lower part of the backrest level, of a roll (pad, wad) (6), in the upper part of the backrest, of a head cushion (7), and, between the roll and the cushion, of a reinforcing element (9). Each roll is provided, on its upper edge, with at least one cut (11, 12). Each reinforcing element and each cut are intended to receive the seat belt straps of the car seat. The bottoms of the backrest and of the seat are also padded. <IMAGE>
