The present invention is an autonomous underwater flash with application of voltage and automatic triggering without external command. It is composed of a water-tight box (1) into which a flash, its tube, its parabola and its diffuser (15), a photoresistor (16), a charge indicator (14), a printed circuit (18) for the flash, a printed circuit (17) for the photoresistor, a mercury switch (12) and electric batteries are integrated. Moreover, this flash is ballasted so as to adopt a desired position in the water. The box includes, on its lower part, an accessory-carrying lifting attachment (hook) (10). <IMAGE>
