<p>PURPOSE:To improve recording or reproducing accuracy by setting a wrapping angle of a magnetic tape to a rotary drum larger than a recording and reproducing range of a signal by a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:When the magnetic head A or B is traveled under its contact with the magnetic tape T by rotating the rotary drum 1a, in an area as shown by first theta1, the magnetic head is in contact with the magnetic tape, but recording is not started. Then, at the time of a starting point (a) or (b) of 90 deg. area, the A head or the B head is turned into the recordable state for the first time, and then the recording is started from this starting point (a) or (b). Thus, by bringing the magnetic head into contact with the tape by a margin as shown by theta1, the unstable state when the magnetic head is started to come in contact with the tape is passed away, and the recording is commenced at the time when the contact between the magnetic head and the tape becomes stable.</p> |
