The solution concerns a method of breaking emulsified crude-oil substances in water by salts of multivalent cations, breaking of emulsified crude-oil substances in water by salts of multivalent cations in chemically mechanical manner. A weak acid emulsion, optimally of pH lower than 5, is enriched with salts of multivalent cations in quantity corresponding to coalition threshold. After addition of salts the emulsion is mechanically mixed in velocity gradient of 25-300 s<-1>, optimally 75-200 s<-1> for a period of 5-90 minutes, optimally from 10 to 40 minutes. After separation of oil, usually gravitationally for a period of 1 to 24 hours and its removal the pH of the purified emulsion is adjusted to neutral value. The residua of the emulsified crude-oil substances, possibly after addition of sorptive agent, are included in the sludge.
