A Body Support Adjuster that can be incorporated into mattresses, seats or loose cushions and which is designed to give both positional and pressure support adjustment to the user. The adjuster is preferably fixed to a frame (1) inside the filling inside a mattress, seat or cushion and comprises a belt (3) that can be moved in either direction along the frame (1) by spindles (2a, 2b) the belt (3) carrying with it a support (4) fixed on to or inside the belt (3), thereby giving positional support. Pressure adjustment is made by moving the support nearer or further from the person resting over it by moving one of the spindles (2a) on to which the belt is fixed and which can be located on a 'floating' adjuster bracket (8) located on slides fixed to the frame (1), the movement of the bracket being controlled by a bolt (7), nut or shaft or by inflating/deflating a flexible container placed under the belt. It can be adapted for use in all forms of transport, the power resources from which being used to create warmth and vibration as well as being utilised to control the positional or pressure adjustment. |
