PURPOSE: To easily produce a polyamide yarn having low shrinkage, high tenacity and balanced properties by including a poly(hexamethylene adipamide) having specific properties and fine structure. CONSTITUTION: A feed yarn is subjected at least in the final drawing stage to continuous drawing and heating treatment until the drawing tension reaches at least 3.8 g/d by the heating at 190 deg.C, the tension is decreased to attain a maximum length reduction ratio of 13.5-30% and the product is cooled to obtain the objective polyamide yarn containing >=85% poly(hexamethylene adipamide) having a relative viscosity of >=50, a tenacity of >=9.5 g/d, a modulus of >=30 g/d, a shrinkage of <2% at 160 deg.C, a crystal completeness index of >=83 and a long-period spacing of >=105Å. |
