PURPOSE:To reduce the storage capacity of a 2nd storage means storing a bit map data by storing an area designation data in terms of a coordinate data and converting the data into the bit map data prior to output scanning to edit a prescribed area according to the bit map data. CONSTITUTION:The user designates a desired area by using a pen or a mouse or the like being a digitizer 2 and commands the picture conversion processing such as trimming, masking and color conversion. A CPU 1 reads required position information from the digitizer 2 and writes it into a prescribed area of a 1st memory 3. The CPU 1 reads a coordinate data stored in the 1st memory 3 and expands only the bit map data required for one scanning into a 2nd memory 6. Thus, the picture processing according to the expanded data is started. |
