A keyboard housing is produced from aluminium or a metal plated plastic (2) and has cut out sections for the keyboard fields (7, 8). The housing frame is produced from extruded section material with an extension (2) shaped to provide internal clearance. A round section (17) is located at the front and together with the main section (2) provides mountings (20) for a metallic enclosure plate (30).
