The matrix material contains a small quantity of Ir, Os, Eu and/or Rh and has the compsn., in %: Au:15-50, Ag:15-50, Pd:10-70, Ir and/or Os and/or Rh and/or Ru:0-1 and Zn:1.5-6, whereby more than 0.5% of the Zn must be present in the form of the intermeta-lic cpd. PdZn. The particles of PdZn must be less than 1 micron in size. Pref. ranges of compsn. of the material are, in %: Zn:2-4, Au:20-40, Ag:25-50, Pd:20-40, Ir and/or Os and/or Ru and/or Rh 0-0.2.
