<p>Glycopeptide metabolites MM 56597 and MM 56598 having structure (I) are produced by bacterial strains belonging to the genus Amycolatopsis. An example of such a strain is sp. NC1B 40089 and also mutants thereof which have been isolated from nature. Both MM 56597 and MM 56598 exhibit useful antibacterial activity.</p> |
