IMPROVED GEAR CONFIGURATION FOR STORAGE CABINET DRAWER INTERLOCKING ASSEMBLY A storage assembly (20) having a string or stack of elements (42) vertically disposed along one side of the storage assembly (20) to allow only one drawer (38) to be opened at a time. The string of control elements (42) have lugs (64) which coact with a tab (78) on the drawer (38) to prevent the drawer from opening. The control elements (42) include transmission (44,46) for rotating the control means (42) in response to the opening of a single drawer (38). The rotation of the single control means (42) moves the remaining control means to their respective blocking positions. The transmission (44,46) includes a pinion (44) secured to the control element (42) and a rack (46) attached to the drawer (38). The pinion (44) comprises two teeth (49,51) of unequal length which rotate about the one axis (A). Likewise, the rack (46) comprises two teeth (53,55) of unequal shape.
