A novel water jug or watering can has one or more permanent magnets which are fitted to a water inlet opening, an air space, a water outlet pipe or a water outlet slit or spout and which are arranged so that the magnetic field acts across or along the water flow direction. ADVANTAGE - The water is strongly magnetically treated so that it is esp. useful for watering plants, for sprinkling on cloth during ironing, for filling steam irons or for making coffee or tea.
