Cardboard cartons (1) are collapsed flat and stored in a magazine (10). The collapsed cartons are removed from the stack one at a time by a rotor (20) with suction heads (24). This rotor delivers the cartons to an endless belt conveyor. The conveyor transports the cartons between close fitting side walls fitted with a slit-like nozzle (51). This nozzle blows air into the open end of the carton so that the carton is erected to its usable form.
