Method for making a pair of tights from two tubes made on a circular knitting machine which are cut and joined by means of stitching in the zone intended to form the briefs part of the tights. In the said zone, a part (2a) extending approximately over half the circumference is knitted in such a way that it has a greater stretchability than the rest of this zone. The two symmetrical tubes are cut and joined in the middle of or close to the middle of the said zone. <IMAGE>
