A method of replenishing an unstable developer-amplifier solution comprising a colour developing agent and an oxidising agent in which the following replenisher solutions are employed: (1) a colour developer replenisher, (2) an oxidising agent replenisher and, optionally, (3) a halide-containing seasoning replenisher (starter solution).
