A cabinet insert is described which has shelf-plane- forming brackets 3 having flat end sections 9 which are received in horizontally extended holes 7,8 in end faces 1,2. In order to be able to furnish a cabinet quickly and easily with simple hand movements for fitting and removal of the brackets and to produce the insert at low cost and in a form which allows space-saving packing, it is proposed according to the invention that the brackets, which are identical and have an angular profile, shall be configured with tongue-like end sections 9, which each have stop-lug-forming shoulders, and the end face holes 7,8 shall be of step-shaped configuration so as to form stop lugs 16. The lifting-up of an end section 9 enables the bracket to be longitudinally displaced by a short, yet adequate distance into the associated end face hole, so that the bracket with its other end section 9 dislodges from the associated end face.
