PURPOSE:To improve the moldability and economy by mixing a specific condensed polycyclic polynuclear arom. hydrocarbon resin with carbon fibers. CONSTITUTION:At least 1.5 mol of p-xylene glycol as a crosslinker is made to react with 1 mol of an arom. compd. to give a condensed polycyclic polynuclear arom. hydrocarbon resin. 10-25 wt.% said resin, 60-90 wt.% carbon fibers, and 0-10 wt.% friction-controlling agent are dry mixed, press-molded at 150-170 deg.C, and post-cured at 200-300 deg.C for 3-10 hr. |
