PURPOSE:To obtain the binocular in good outward appearance which does not have its focus detection area moved with the distance to an observed body by providing a photodetection window for focusing detection between two optical systems and setting the up-down size less than the up-down size of objectives. CONSTITUTION:A focusing detection module 19 is provided with the photodetection window 15 which guides light from the observed body between the 1st and 2nd optical systems and the up-down size is set less than the up- down size of a couple of objectives 13 and 14. Consequently, the focusing area does not move with the distance to the observed body. Further, a conventional binocular has its photodetection part at a side part, so even when the side part is so structured to swell, the side part does not swell because the part is positioned in the center, so that the binocular is small in size and has good appearance. Further, the photodetection window is positioned in the middle between the objectives 13 and 14 and then an optical path for guiding light to the focusing detection module 19 can easily be formed. |
