PURPOSE:To execute the loopback for detecting a fault point and the monitor of a state of an optical repeater with a monitor signal even in an optical repeater using an optical direct amplifier by providing a monitor signal processing section applying respective processing both in the case of the loopback and the state monitor. CONSTITUTION:A monitor signal processing section 7 applies processing corresponding to 1st and 2nd monitor signals to be inputted and gives the result of processing to a 1st laser diode drive section 8 or a 2nd laser diode drive section 18 connecting to an output of the monitor signal processing section 7 and from which a light of a 2nd light wavelength 12 radiates. Then the laser diode is driven according to the result of processing and sent to a next stage via a 1st optical coupler 4 or a 2nd optical coupler 14. Thus, the monitor of the state of the optical repeater and the loopback for detecting a fault point are implemented by using the monitor signal even in the optical repeater employing optical direct amplifiers 1, 3, 11, 13. |
