PURPOSE:To A cell activating substance composed of a water-soluble ingredient, extracted from Sophora angustifolia Sieb. et Zucc. of a leguminous plant and having a specific molecular weight. CONSTITUTION:Water in an amount of 5-10 times based on Sophora anguetifolia Sieb. et Zucc. is added thereto and the Sophora angustifolia Sieb. et Zucc. is dipped therein at 4 deg.C for several days while being occasionally stirred. A filtrate is then collected by filtration and concentrated until the volume attains (1/10) to (1/20) under reduced pressure. An organic solvent is added to the resultant concentrate so as to provide about 60% concentration thereof. Centrifugation is carried out to collect precipitates, which are then dissolved in water to perform gel filtration using a column (25X60cm) filled with, e.g. Sephadex G-25(R) and afford a fraction eluting at a specified Kav value, e.g. 0.65-0.86. The resultant fraction is subsequently freeze-dried to provide a cell activating substance having 700-1100 molecular weight. The obtained substance can be used as a promoter for tissue culture or regeneration and treatment of ulcerated and traumatic parts. |
