<p>A picture is reproduced on a screen using ane electron beam which forms it by use of parallel forward sweeps (31) in a specific direction, connected with return sweeps (32). The two sweeps have the same time duration, and both are modulated with a picture signal. The signal for deflection at right-angles to the sweep direction, normally vertical deflection, is superimposed by a small sawtoothed signal with double the frequency of that of the sweep, and with an amplitude which imparts a continuously curved path to the forward and return sweeps (31, 32).</p> |
