PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for delete processing of an erroneous mail at a reception side, to simplify the correspondence of an error mail at a caller and to simplify the correction processing after the mail transmission by allowing the sender to apply cancel processing when a mail sent once is not taken up by an opposite party and taking it back to the sender. CONSTITUTION:A command input means 1-1 being part of a work station has a function publicating a call command of a general mail and a call command of a cancel mail and reception of a reception command of a general mail and a cancel mail. Then a mail is sent automatically to office processors 1-15 to 1-17 corresponding to the destination by the mail transmission by the command and when the opposite party of the destination does not take up the mail, a function enabling the cancellation of the sent mail by the transmission mail cancel command from the sender is provided. Thus, the sender can cancel the sent mail and correct it.
