The invention relates to a process for production of a clearing saw cutter, in which process teeth having a breast surface 3 and a clearance surface 4 and, between these, a sharp cutting edge 2 are cut out on the edge circumference of the disc-like saw blade 1. The cutting edge 2 and at least the thereto adjoining clearance surface 4 are made directly into their final form by laser cutting, the cutting speed and power of which are adjusted such that the cutting edge and clearance surface material is made to harden to a certain hardness and a certain depth. <IMAGE>
