PURPOSE:To decide the propriety of welding with high accuracy by providing a projecting part for supporting the vicinity of a welded zone of a work and a recessed part being adjacent thereto, and providing a covering layer of a ceramics material which abuts on the work on the surface of the projecting part. CONSTITUTION:On the main body part 12 of a backing strip 10 being a work supporting member, projecting parts 18a-18c for supporting the vicinity of a welded zone of a work W1 are provided. Also, recessed parts 20a, 20b which are adjacent to the projecting parts 18a-18c corresponding to the welded zone of the work W1 and separated from the welded zone are formed. On the surface of the projecting parts 18a-18c, covering layers 14a-14c consisting of a ceramics material which abuts on the work W1 are disposed. In accordance with the position of the projecting part, a temperature detecting means is provided. In such a manner, it can be guaranteed to position and support exactly the work. |
