PURPOSE:To prepare the title material giving a molded article which has a low density and a good appearance and meets the requirements of Food Sanitation Law by compounding two fillers, a specific glass balloon and a specific aluminum hydroxide, each in a specified amt. into the title material which comprises an unsatd. polyester resin, a thermoplastic resin, the filler, etc. CONSTITUTION:In preparing the title material by compounding an unsatd. polyester resin, a thermoplastic resin (e.g. a polystyrene), a filler, a reinforcement (e.g. a glass fiber), a crosslinker (e.g. styrene), a polymn. initiator (e.g. dicumyl peroxide), a mold release agent, a colorant, etc., a glass balloon having a bulk density of at least 0.1-0.3g/cm<3> in an amt. of 15-35wt.% and aluminum hydroxide having a mean particle diameter of 1-10mu in an amt. of 5-25wt.%, each amt. being based on the total material, are compounded as the filler into the material. |
