The evacuated solar energy collector has an integral deep drawn sheet metal trough (1) which is equipped with an absorber (9) and with pipes (12,13) for the heat transfer medium. A flange (4) around the edge of the trough supports a sheet (7) of material which is transparent to radiation. Additional support elements (17) are provided, which are attached to the trough bottom (3). The latter is corrugated to increase its rigidity and prevent distortion, when the trough is evacuated. The corrugations pref. extend up to the parallel side walls (2).
