The sheet delivery mechanism for a folding machine has a separating device (5) with suction separator (4) attachable to a vacuum source (99). A valve (10, 15) is provided in each flow path (8, 14) leading from the separating device and transport device to the vacuum source (9) and these valves are controllable separately from each other by a control device (18). This control device is pref. designed so that the vacuum impingement of the separating device is interrupted at least with each vacuum impingement of the transport device. It is released again after a transport path of the transport device corresponding at least to the dia. of the separating suction unit (4).
