A plug adaptor for use with insulated electrical cables has a main body (5) of insulating material that receives the cable (3) at one end. A formed extension (6) locates onto an item of equipment at the other. Internally the wires of the cable (2) locate in a metal connector (1) and this has an extension to the plug socket (11). A side tapping (4) provides a means for the plug (14) of a test adaptor to be coupled to the cable.
