The impeller (7) is mounted in the vertical intake section of a curved duct (6) whose outlet is angled to provide the thrust. The duct is inside a rotating mounting (10) which controls the direction of thrust. The blade tips are linked by a ring, also of flexible material. The impeller is driven by a gearing which allows torque transfer in any position of the thrust. The thrust direction is controlled by a servo motor (13) driving the duct mounting via a worm gear.
