<p>A device for loading a cabinet with a cassette in which a tray (60) on which a cassette can be loaded on the upper surface thereof can be transported reciprocatingly in a horizontal direction by a horizontally transporting mechanism (4, 80, 76) and can be moved from a first position in which it is subjected to a slot-out operation to a second position in which it is subjected to a slot-in operation. When the tray (60) is positioned above a cassette driving part, the tray can be reciprocated up and down, pressing down the cassette by an up-and-down transporting mechanism (2, 14, 30). A cassette adapter (250) can store a second cassette having a magnetic recording tape of a smaller size than that of an ordinary cassette and is removably-mounted on the tray instead of the ordinary cassette. A cassette no-load detecting lever (251) for detecting the existence of the magnetic recording tape of the second cassette is provided in the cassette adapter (250). A lever detecting means (4) stops the tray (60) from moving from the first position to the second position, in the middle course of making the tray (60) subjected to the slot-in operation, by detecting the protrusion of the cassette no-load detecting lever. A control means (300) controls the up-and-down transporting mechanism (2, 14, 30), responding to the detection of the cassette no-load detecting lever (251) performed by the lever detecting means (4).</p> |
