摘要 <p>A compsn. contg. (a) a thermoplast and (b) MO.n(Fe2O3) (ferrite) is liquefied by means of electromagnetic field energy. M = divalent metal ion; n = greater than 1. Non-conductive materials can be bonded by the process, esp. when the amplitude and/or frequency of the electromagnetic field at the position of bonding is a resultant of an electromagnetic field with frequency 0.1-100 KHz and an electromagnetic field with frequency 1-50 MHz. In addn. to the electromagnetic field energy, mechanical vibration of ultrasonic fequency may be applied at the same place, with the period of appln. of the ultrasonic vibration (partly) overlapping that of the electromagnetic field energy. Bonding may be by inductive welding. Also, a protective layer may be applied by the process.</p>
