A solid oxide fuel cell has a plurality of cylindrical solid oxide fuel cell elements (30). Each of the fuel cell elements at least has a fuel electrode (6), a solid electrolyte (5) and an air electrode (1). A multi-contact point type current-collecting member (9) contacts the fuel electrode (6). The fuel electrode of an upper fuel cell element is electrically connected to the air electrode of an adjacent lower fuel electrode element through the multi-contact point type current-collecting member (9) and an interconnector (8). The multi-contact point type current-collecting member is contacted with substantially the entire surface of the fuel electrode. Losses due to resistance in the fuel electrodes are minimized.
