PURPOSE:To economically produce a membrane capable of selectively separating alcohol from a water alcohol mixture at a high rate of permeation by using a copolymer of a multifunctional active hydrogen compd. with specified polyol having 500-3,000wt. average mol.wt. and org. diisocyanate. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer of a multifunctional active hydrogen compd., preferably 1,4-butanediol with polyol represented by formula I (where l is an integer of 1-10 and m is an integer) and org. diisocyanate, preferably 4,4'- dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate is used. The wt. average mol.wt. of the polyol is 800-3,000 and polyoxytetramethylene glycol is preferably used as the polyol. The polyol is used by 30-60mol% and the multifunctional active hydrogen compd. and the org. diisocyanate are used by 70-40mol% in total. A high strength thin membrane for selectively separating alcohol is obtd. |
