Zeolite-metal catalysts are described for the production of hydrocarbons from synthesis gas or oxygenated organic compounds, such as alcohols. The catalyst comprises a zeolite having deposited thereon and within the pores thereof the combination of (a) iron and (b) at least one further metal selected from palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, osmium and iridium.
