PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption and the rising of temperature inside the machine without need for waiting time by varying the energizing range of a heating body corresponding to the size of a recording material. CONSTITUTION:The low heat capacity linear heating body is an aluminum substrate 6 coated with a resistance material 5, and a contact 11 which is in contact with the resistance material 5 on one end and in contact with a sliding type voltage pressing terminal 12 on the other end is embedded in the aluminum substrate 6. Then, a thermistor 8 is provided in an upper part of the aluminum substrate 6, and energy according to the controlled desired temperature and discharged energy quantity is fed. Furthermore, the sliding type voltage impressing terminal 12 is moved by a lever 13 which is interlocked with a paper restriction plate, and energizing and heating is carried out according to the size of the fed paper. Thus there is no standby time, and the temperature inside the machine can be lowered without necessitating a large power consumption. |
