PURPOSE:To obtain high purity carbon monoxide by subjecting carbon monoxide and hydrogen to gas-liquid separation and reducing the pressure of the obtained liquid to lower the concn. of hydrogen and heating the liquid to again subject carbon monoxide and hydrogen to gas-liquid separation. CONSTITUTION:Raw material gas is cooled by a freezer 10 and the moisture and carbon dioxide in the gas are removed in an MS adsorbing tower 12. The raw material gas passes through the first heat exchanger 16, the second heat exchanger 18 and a CO evaporator 20 and is cooled by the heat exchange with return low temp. gas to be sent into a high pressure flash drum 22. Only carbon monoxide and methane in the raw material gas are liquefied while hydrogen and other gas are subjected to gas-liquid separation and hydrogen gas is extracted as product hydrogen from the high pressure flash drum 22. Since a part of the hydrogen gas is dissolved in a raw material liquid, this solution is reduced in pressure in a low pressure flash drum 24 to lower the solubility of the hydrogen gas to the liquid and the liquid is further guided to the CO evaporator 20 and heated to be sent into a dehydrogenating drum 26 and the solubility of hydrogen in the liquid is further lowered and the hydrogen gas is again separated from liquefied carbon monoxide and liquefied methane. |
