PURPOSE:To reduce the change of the thickness of a separator and invariably hold a fixed quantity of an electrolyte uniformly in the separator by entangling short fibers three-dimensionally between fiber lattices of the ground fabric of a woven fabric into an integrated dense structure. CONSTITUTION:A ground fabric 12 laminated with a wet fiber web 13 on one face or both faces is provided on a net-shaped wet fiber web supporter 20, and a high-pressure water steam is sprayed on the wet fiber web 13. The wet web supporter 20 is a porous screen so that the water stream passing the wet web 13 and the ground fabric 12 penetrates the holes formed on the supporter 20, and entangled fibers 14 formed into a nonporous flat plate shape so that the water stream passing the web 13 and the ground fabric 12 collides with the supporter 20 then is bounced back and again entangled between fibers of the wet fiber web 13 are provided. Constituting fibers of the web 13 are three- demensionally entangled between fiber lattices of the ground fabric 12 after the web 13 is laminated on one face or both faces of the ground fabric 12. |
