PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a small-sized power module capable of having a power control at high speed by a method wherein gate drive circuits and a power control element are mounted on the same substrate along with a connector for control signal use and a main circuit terminal stage. CONSTITUTION:A metallic substrate or a ceramic substrate is used. A power transistor part 12, which consists of 6 pieces of power transistor chips 20 constituting a main circuit of an inverter, a gate drive circuit part 14, which consists of 4 blocks of gate drive circuits (a) to (d) for making the individual chips 20 drive and has 6 circuits, a connector 16, which is used for a control signal for actuating this part 14 and is used for connecting a power supply, and a main circuit terminal stage 14 for connecting input/output power, which is controlled by the main circuit, to a DC power supply and a motor, which are provided on the outside, are mounted on this substrate 10. |
