PURPOSE:To add a program to a control means to protect a laser beam nozzle shaft by providing a control means for stopping the movement of the laser beam nozzle axis by detecting an overtravel of a laser beam nozzle shaft with a copy sensor provided on the laser beam nozzle shaft. CONSTITUTION:When the right side of a sheet metal 4 is bent upward, the tip 3a of a probe 3 strikes on the bent part of the sheet metal 4, moves drastically upward and this movement is detected by the copy sensor 2, therefore, the laser beam nozzle shaft 1 is stopped by an instruction of the control means previously to prevent the laser beam nozzle shaft 1 from striking on the sheet metal 4. When the thickness of the sheet metal 4 is larger than the set value, before the tip 1a of the laser beam nozzle shaft 1 strikes on the sheet metal 4, the tip 3a of the probe 3 strikes on the sheet metal 4 and it is moved drastically upward, this movement is detected by the copy sensor 2, the control means stops the laser beam nozzle axis 1, consequently, the tip 1a of the laser beam nozzle shaft 1 can be prevented previously from striking on the sheet metal 4. |
