In this method, a group of lightguides (G1, G2, G3) are positioned with respect to the other (F1, F2, F3) by making two transverse bearing faces (14, 16) slide mutually, these faces being formed for this on two joining blocks. These two joining blocks (10, 12) are made of metal and carry the lightguides (G1, G2, G3, F1, F2, F3) to be coupled by means of lightguide supports (2, 4, 6, 8) so as to enable them to be fixed to each other by fusion bonding when optimal coupling has been obtained.
