PURPOSE:To freely arrange reproduction-only area and recording-enable area on one disk substrate by forming a first reflecting layer on the reproduction-only area and further forming a recording layer and a second reflecting layer on the whole surface. CONSTITUTION:A disk substrate 2 which is the base body of the optical disk 1 has a reproduction-only area RO1 in the inner circumference part and a reproduction-only area RO2 in the intermediate part with pits formed according to information. A recording area RA1 in the intermediate part and a recording area RA2 in the outer circumference part have guide grooves provided for control of tracking. These pits and guide grooves are formed by massproduction method by use of stampers. The reproduction-only areas RO1 and RO2 of the substrate 2 are covered with the first reflecting layer 3 devided on each area, and a recording layer 4 is formed on the whole surface including the reflecting layer 3 and the recording areas RA1 and RA2. The second reflecting layer 5 is formed wholy on the recording layer 4, and further a protective layer 9 is formed thereon. |
