A ladder support device comprises a top part (15) including a platform (10) for supporting a ladder, and a pair of dependent plates (11), between which is a base member (1) pivotally mounted (7) to plates (11). Base (1) includes two feet (2). On the underside of platform (10) is a threaded or toothed block (9) which engages a threaded or toothed member (8) on the arcuate region (8a) of base (1), to locate the two parts respectively. A cam device (20) enables the two parts, once located, to be forced into, and held in, engagement. |
