PRODUCTION OF FIBER-REINFORCED INORGANIC MATERIAL

摘要

PURPOSE:To densify the texture and improve the strength and quality of a fiber-reinforced inorganic material by machining a formed fiber material having a matrix texture layer formed on a part of the surface of single fibers and filling the gap of the formed article with a 2nd matrix layer. CONSTITUTION:A formed fiber article 1 composed of collected plural single fibers 1a is placed in a reaction furnace 2, a gaseous raw material or liquid raw material is introduced through a filling port 2a and a thermochemical reaction is carried out while impregnating the formed article with the raw material to obtain a porous intermediate formed article 3 containing the 1st matrix texture layer 3a attached to the surface of the single fiber 1a leaving a part of the gap 1b of the single fiber 1a in the formed article 1. The formed article 3 is machined with a cemented carbide tool 4, placed in the reaction furnace 2 and subjected to thermochemical reaction while impregnating a gaseous raw material or liquid raw material into the whole surface of the formed material 3 to fill the gap 3b of the formed article with the 2nd matrix texture layer 5a formed by the reaction.
