PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure the area rate of a picture pattern for every key zone without mounting a printing plate on the specified position of a measuring part by determining the position of the printing plate which is mounted on a conveying belt of a plate feeding part that is connected to the front surface of the main body of a measuring device before the conveyance of the plate in the direction perpendicular to the conveying direction. CONSTITUTION:When a printing plate 102 is mounted on conveying belts 104, conveyance is started. When the tip of the plate is detected with a sensor 122, the conveying belts 104 are temporarily stopped. Width moving parts 118 and 120 are started to move in the approaching direction toward the plate (leftward), and the printing plate 102 is pushed leftward. When the printing plate 102 comes into contact with the left side surface of a plate feeding part 106, the direction of the printing plate 102 is aligned in parallel with the conveying direction. At the same time, the sensors of both plate detecting parts 114 and 116 detect the plate. Thus, the movements of the width moving parts 118 and 120 are finished. Thereafter, the printing plate 102 is conveyed into a main body 100 through a conveying port 124 by the movement of the conveying belts 104. The plate 102 is conveyed under the state wherein the position in the direction perpendicular to the conveying direction is correctly aligned, and the area rate of the picture pattern for every key zone is obtained accurately. |
