An improved back-flow distillation device is characterised by an extended coupling section added to its rotating vapour guide tube, into which a section of reduced tube diameter projects so as to allow the liquid to flow back without losses into the rotating tube. A vacuum seal between the reduced-dia. section and a structural element such as a flange ensures that the device is statically and dynamically sealed, and that contaminating traces from the seal do not reach the liquid being distilled. The device is provided with a flange by which it is attached to the drive of a rotating evaporator vessel. USE/ADVANTAGE - This device is used in laboratory distillation systems, and offers an almost universal distillation system, suitable esp. for rotating evaporators, which can be easily, cheaply and quickly adjusted to the required application, and which operates without contamination or loss of the liquid being distilled.
