METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A CATHODE FOR COLOR CRT

A cathode for a color cathode ray tube is manufactured by mixing a suspension of alkali earth metal carbonate as an electron emission material with 0.1-20 wt.% Sc2O3 and 0.01-10 wt.% In2O3 heat- treated at the oxidation condition of 800-1200 deg.C for at least 1hr, agitating the mixt. by the ball-mill, and coating it on the base matal containing a reducing agent i.e. Mg or Si. The cathode has an excellent emission capacity.
