The supply socket (1) is fitted to a common rail (3) allowing simple, rapid, relative positioning of a number of sockets. The rail has locking projections (4,5) for ooperating with the cable openings (6,7) in the base of the socket (1). Pref. the rail (3) has spring projections (4) spaced along it at a spacing interval which corresponds to the min. interval between 2 adjacent sockets (1). Each projection (4) has a hooked end cooperating with the edge of the cable opening (6,7) in the base of the socket (1). Pref. the projections (4) lie in pairs for engaging the opposing edges of each cable opening (6,7).
