PURPOSE:To enable using under the conditions of high contact pressure at a prescribed position to the breadthwise direction of plate by providing a higher surface hardness in the corresponding position where is worked under the conditions of higher contact pressure to the longitudinal direction of the body part of roll by means of heat treatment technology. CONSTITUTION:In a roll which contact pressure always is higher in the vicinity of the same position to the longitudinal direction of roll, it is dissolved that wear and surface roughening are generated at an early stage at that position, the frequency of roll change that requires time and manual aid can be reduced and also the working effect of production facilities can be raised due to them. And, since the higher the hardness is, the higher the contact rolling fatigue strength is, the grinding quantity of each incorporated use that is conventionally based on the position of higher contact pressure to prevent fracture due to accumulative fatigue can be reduced and the consumption unit of roll is improved. Furthermore, since a partial wear in the longitudinal direction of the roll is small, the lowering of control ability for thickness accuracy in the breathwise direction can be prevented. |
